There are numerous attractions for families with children.
The parks in Val di Cornia, in particular the archaeological park San Silvestro and the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia and the Etruscan Museum in Piombino, offer courses and workshops for adults and children, in which they can learn how to paint the mediaeval ceramics, to make Etruscan mosaics or learn how to work as an archaeologist and geologist.
Visits to the mines and tours with the electric railways in the Temperino Valley complete a cultural experience of the most beautiful and interesting things in the area.
Just a few kilometres from us is Il Cavallino Matto (the mad pony!) an amusement park with attractions, events, 4D cinema, restaurants and bar, a shaded picnic area, parking area; children can have their faces beautifully made up and be transformed into popular cartoon figures or go on breathtaking rides – switchbacks etc!
The park Gallorose is an agricultural company with animals, where you can see many native and also exotic species, visible along a path that winds through the countryside.
There is also an adventure park Il Giardino Sospeso (Hanging Gardens) near Riparbella, immersed in a woods of 600 hectare, with many paths for children and adults, and the possibility of an orienteering trip around the park.
