Pino – Pinus Pinaster – Pinaceae family Maritime Pine
It is an evergreen tree of the Mediterranean coasts. It can reach 30 metres. The juvenile foliage is conical, with the branches that rise curved upwards, in adult plants it becomes more flattened and dense. The leaves are needle-like.
In Greek legends, as well as in the East, it meant eternity, immortality. For this reason, in Japan, pine wood is used to build temples and tools related to religious celebrations and, again in Japan, as in ancient Rome, the pine is present in wedding rites.
